The mission of BVCA is to
voice the needs of homeowners in their quest to preserve their home values and
quality of life. We also strive to enhance the charm and character of
Amityville.
Amityville is a unique
community located on the
south shore of Long Island, New York, just 20 miles from the New York City line.
We cherish our “Norman Rockwell” existence.
While we are all concerned about rising taxes, we also want to preserve and
increase the value of our homes. Our quality of life is precious but fragile. The proximity
to New York City, makes us an easy commute to Manhattan via the the Amityville LIRR
station or the Southern State Parkway. The Village is situated on
the Great South Bay which
makes it a beautiful waterfront community.
There are many beautiful old
homes in Amityville, some are bay front, some are on canals that lead to the bay
and
many are on quiet tree-lined streets. We pride ourselves in being a "Tree
City USA". A magic
time of year is December when decorated homes may remind one of
warm Norman Rockwell paintings. Our holiday tree lighting and community
sing-a-long at The Triangle is a highlight of the season.
Recreation is plentiful in the
area. We have our own Village Beach which boasts a summer youth program.
The ocean Town Beaches are only 20 minutes away and are available to residents.
Boating and sailing are very popular as is fishing.
Our Village is 2.5 miles square, steeped in
history and adorned with many small shops. Amity means friendship and Amityville is "The Friendly Village"
on The Great South Bay.
